Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhivas Rajanagarindra, the Royal Patron, graciously supported the complete publication of the World Tipiṭaka in the Roman Script. Consequently of the words of the Buddha --a Heritage of Humanity-- has been well preserved and propagated among the peace-loving people worldwide.
To commemorate Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana's esteemed meritorious deeds, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration together with the M.L. Maniratana Bunnag Dhamma Society under the Patronage of His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand jointly organise the World Tipiṭaka Recitation on November 14, 2008 at the People’s Plaza, the Bangkok City Hall, on the occasion of the Royal Cremation of the late Princess. In order to facilitate public participation of the World Tipiṭaka Recitation and to ensure the understanding of correct recitation, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has published a handbook entitled “The World Tipiṭaka Recitation Manual -- Preserving the Sound of Pāḷi” by selecting the words of the Buddha from the Pāḷi Tipiṭaka in the Roman script as well as the translations into Thai and English languages in 12 chapters.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration sincerely hopes that the organising of the World Tipiṭaka Recitation and the printing of the World Tipiṭaka Recitation Manual will deepen public understanding so much so that people in Thailand and abroad could live their lives in peace and happiness in accordance with the words of the Buddha.

World Tipiṭaka Recitation is an act in which a participating patron recites a Pāḷi text and its translation from the Tipiṭaka scripture in the Theravada Buddhist tradition resulting in a great meritorius deed since it is the preservation of the sound of Dhamma in purity from the World Tipitaka Edition to be long enduring.
